Memorial Hermann celebrates opening of second Convenient Care Center as part of Pearland Medical Complex

HOUSTON, TX (March 7, 2014) –The second of Memorial Hermann’s Convenient Care Centers, located in Pearland, opened on February 17 as part of the Memorial Hermann Pearland Medical Complex. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held recently to celebrate the grand opening of the state-of-the-art facility.

Representatives from the Memorial Hermann System, Pearland City Council, including the Mayor, Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Pearland ISD, as well as other city, state and county officials, community members and business owners marked the occasion with a special ceremony on March 6.

“Pearland is the third largest city by population in the Gulf Coast Area and the second fastest growing city in the state of Texas, and our citizens will now have immediate access to Memorial Hermann's world-class, patient-centered care,” said Tom Reid, mayor of Pearland.

“Pearland is a great city to live, work and raise a family. Our community and the surrounding region only grow stronger with partners like Memorial Hermann who are committed to advancing the health of our residents,” said State Representative Ed Thompson.

The innovative facility offers one-stop, highly coordinated access to a vast array of Memorial Hermann services in a single location. Specifically, it provides the greater Pearland area with primary care (adult and pediatric), lab services, comprehensive radiology services, wellness, prevention and a 24-hour emergency room.

Additionally, the center is designed to take the stress out of scheduling appointments for routine health needs by offering families convenient options such as walk-in access and extended evening and weekend hours. For more urgent needs, the Center’s 24-hour, state-of-the-art emergency department is staffed by Memorial Hermann’s board-certified emergency medicine physicians and emergency trained nurses. Patients in need of higher levels of care will be transferred to Memorial Hermann Southeast or Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

The Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in Pearland is located at 16100 South Freeway, on the southbound side of Highway 288 near FM 518. The 64-bed acute care hospital is set to open in 2015 as part of the Pearland Medical Complex.
