Pearland Experiencing A Healthy Dose of Medical Development

Health care plays a vital role in every community. With its close proximity to the world-renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC), Pearland is quickly becoming "the" location for major health care organizations looking to expand beyond TMC and develop quality medical facilities in nearby communities.

Below is a list of the large-scale medical development projects currently underway in Pearland:

Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital/Professional Office Building 1 -- Memorial Hermann is developing a medical office building on a 25-acre site at State Highway 288 and Broadway (FM518). The underserved area will now feature a 70,000 square-foot building witha n ambulatory surgery center that features four operating rooms and two procedure rooms for endoscopy. In addition, it will house physician office space, plus an imaging center featuring the following technologies: MRI, CT, mammography, X-ray and ultrasound. The facility's design will provide concenient drive-up parking access to the first-floor surgery and imaging senters.

HCA Affiliated Hospitals -- Construction is complete on Phase I of Hosptial Corporation of America's (HCA) new Medical Complex located at the southwest corner of Shadow Creek Parkway and Texas 288. Phase I includes a 78,000 square-foot medical office building for the Pearland Emergency Care Center and the Pearland Medical Imaging Center, which opened on July 10.
In addition to these new medical projects, a 78,000 square-foot medical office and imaging center is underconstruction at FM518 and SH288. It is slated to open in spring 2007.
