Shadow Creek Ranch celebrates with "Bases Loaded" promotion with Astros

Over 700 Shadow Creek Ranch residents join in Grand Opening launch at Minute Maid Park

Pearland, Texas (June 23, 2004)- Pearland's Shadow Creek Ranch has many reasons to celebrate this season. Before its Grand Opening, the community is already the fastest-selling new, master-planned community in Houston's history.  Now, as the community celebrates its Grand Opening of 22 brand new model homes, Shadow Creek Ranch has teamed with the Houston Astros to contribute to area charities through the Astros In Action Foundation.

"Shadow Creek Ranch's location and 3,3500 acres in size gives us a major sales advantage over all other Houston area master-planned communities," said Carlo Ferreira, developer of Shadow Creek. "So we decided to team with the Houston Astros to celebrate and share some of the successes with area charities."

Throughout the season, Shadow Creek Ranch and the Astros In Action Foundation will contribute to charity every time the Astros load the bases.

"The Bases Are Loaded" promotion was launched with all Shadow Creek Ranch residents invited to an Astros Game. Over 700 residents wore Shadow Creek Ranch's "Bases Loaded" tee-shirts.  "This was a perfect opportunity for all the residents to get to know their neighbors, help a good cause and just have fun," says Sherry Stockwell, director of the Shadow Creek Ranch Home & Information Center and Shadow Creek Ranch resident.

Astros' owner, Drayton McClane hosted Ferreira and his wife and daughter for dinner and his box seats behind home plate prior to the promotion's first pitch.

"It was an amazing scene. From behind home plate, you could see hundreds of our residents all together at Minute Maid Park in dressed in 'The Bases Are Loaded at Shadow Creek' shirts, added Ferreira. " They could all stay for the entire game because they were only 15 minutes from their home at Shadow Creek Ranch."

The goal of the promotion is to contribute over $100,000 to area charities.
